Things I Can’t Live Without: A Team

I used to be a lone ranger. Cooking, cleaning, doing the laundry, etc. were things I did on my own because I thought nobody would do it to my standards. As a result, I missed out on opportunities to work as a team. This bled into my work life and caused major burnout and health struggles.

Recently, I’ve begun to embrace community. For a former lone ranger, depending on others can be scary. When you find a safe and healthy community, it makes all the difference in the world. One of the communities I’m a part of is the VA Connection.

The VA Connection is a group of like-minded people who are there to support each other as we each build our own virtual assistant business. The great thing about the group is the support, encouragement, and accountability. We are all at different places in our business, which helps guard against comparison syndrome.

The best part for me is having a team whose ready and willing to jump in and support each other. I was able to help a potential client by recommending one of the team who specialized in a skill I didn’t possess. It was so good to know I was recommending someone with integrity.

Are you breaking into a new thing? Do you have a safe community to provide ongoing support? Let me know what you’re up to in the comments.
